What led you to Earth and Space science?
As a child I was always interested in animals, nature, and severe weather.
How long have you been a member of AGU and why did you join?
I am signing up to be a member right now.
What are you working on now?
My research focuses on better understanding dry dynamical aspects of tropical weather and climate. In
particular, I study transient aspects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), a region where vigorous clouds grow
and precipitate. This region has implications for weather, in the form of mesoscale precipitation, tropical waves, and
tropical cyclones. The ITCZ also greatly impacts the Hadley circulation and energy transport in the climate system.
